Conflict is what makes us interested in a story.  We often wonder what solutions the characters will come up with to solve their problems, no matter how large or small those problems are.

• Consider the conflicts in your summer reading. What was the most compelling conflict in your book and why?  Did the protagonist of the novel successfully solve the conflict?  If so, how?  If not, what obstacles stood in his/her way?
